@da_667 I can't speak for optical drive options (though I hear that laptops sold in Japan still have them in some cases), Framework laptops have modular, USB-C based expansion ports. My Framework 13 has 4 (2 on either side), all of which can be used for charging. The expansion cards offer USB-C, USB-A, Micro SD, HDMI, DP, Ethernet, and 3.5mm audio (in addition to the one that is on the part of the laptop), and storage. The Ethernet card sticks out a bit, but the rest are flush with the case.
