Either 1) My hyperfocus kicks in for not just the project, but learning the skills needed to complete the project, and I spend ages learning just enough to get it done. But then don't use those skills again for months/years, so promptly forget them. Or 2) I get completely demoralised by my inability to do something I was never able to do anyway, but now I feel like a failure for it.
