I use burlap a lot to cover any exposed wood framing when I'm doing natural plastering. I seek out the coarsest, loosest weave coffee sacks, because cobb adheres to it really well. I've noticed there are differences in the texture and color of coffee sacks. I'm guessing the lighter rougher material may be sisal , and the darker softer is jute. Thanks for looking that up!
