@puppygirlhornypost2 i had to go back at using a relatively old laptop recently and it’s fucking dire how bad things run on it. the main thing i can compare is games, and there’s games i played a lot on this machine that now are impossible to run bc all studios must have included gpu manufacturer bullshit to their games, making legacy gpus tank. the same goes for a few websites. normal stuff that people use everyday, like youtube, is so fucking slow. and i remember in the past i would just install a lightweight linux distribution and that would give new life to a laptop, but that doesn’t work anymore bc the websites are shit, they load functions and libraries that cause this. the javascript engine itself is loaded with crap. all software suffers from this nowadays. we have those beautiful, powerful machines in front of us and 60% of said power is used to load ads and tracking.
