@overlordspock@masto.ai @marioguzman@mastodon.social My strong suspicion is that there are still plenty of people that care, but the design leadership is awful. I also bet Liquid Glass was a late pivot to try to distract from not even being able to ship AI features from *last* year so teams across Apple are struggling just to get anything that ships, much less have it be actually good.

But, the decline in Apple UI design and the attention-to-detail I mentioned has been a long-time decline, not just since their struggles with AI. MacOS, for example, has been a mess for at least the last 5-7 years. And, the decline probably started way before that.
