@Laurinchen@mastodon.social you'd think that a chat app would be the most trivial program to make since you literally just need to transmit text, but no, programmers can make 3d multiplayer games with amazing graphics that run on my potato laptop but they can't make a chat app that doesn't either take 4GB ram on both client and server, regularly crashes and has outages OR has zero features OR sells your data to the CCP or all of the above
