Season: A Letter to the Future (PC/PS5, xp'd on PS5) Your best friend in the village has a dream that the Season is about to end. You decide to leave the village and go out into the world on your bike to catalog as much as you can so that the future might remember this Season. This is a short (9h to credits for me) "walking sim" that, if I'm honest, is rather melancholic. In this alternate universe, there are purple crystals that have affects on people's memories, and dreams. While the world is very pretty to look at, there is an underlying current of sadness, of inevitability. There's moments of amusement, to be sure, but this is a more ruminative game. Overall gameplay is simple: take pictures, record sounds, sketch, scrapbook, and talk to the people you meet to fill your notebook with all the memories you can make of this Season before it ends. The game doesn't feel rushed, tho. Plenty of time to observe and talk to everyone, and pet all the animals too. I always enjoy games that have that "hand drawn" art style. The music is very well done and complements the game well. There's good voice actors, too. Considering that they play a big part in the game, the SFX are also very well done.
