I love music for its ability to procure entirely unique visions in each and every one of us when we listen to it. I know this to be true because when I listen to certain classical pieces, a primordial force is brought forth within my mind&#39;s eye that shows me visions of my own narrative world - something not conceived of by the original composer, someone who lived at least 150 years ago. I can be driving in a car and randomly hear a century-old masterpiece and instantly be inspired to make a key feature for my custom species. It feels like I&#39;m accessing a timeless flow of qualia that changes shape and morphs the world every time it&#39;s resurfaced, and this time it has taken form as my own special version of it. I alone have brought about this new experience through mere exposure to music. I don&#39;t get super spiritual often, but I hope that stuff is interesting enough to people

Oh yeah, for those wondering, it was Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18. The name of the piece cut off on the radio name, but I'm pretty sure it was the "I. Moderato" act of the piece. In particular, I was thinking about how one of my subspecies, the Chlorophids, would interpret art, and what it would mean to their people. Some of the more uplifting parts just sort of supplanted an image of these flowing currents of color, thought, and art that they would have access to within their network of minds. The music made it come alive, and at that moment, I just knew that it had to be constructed that way. Beautiful piece on its own, I'm glad my radio was switched to the classical channel by another family member that day.
