I've temporarily experienced something like this as a side effect of playing "binaural beats" through stereo earbud headphones. a 110Hz tone through lefty, and 140Hz tone through righty, both at 60dB. the warble effect is induced and shortly after that the effect of music plays in my head. I love it! often wished I could record it or play it. I should learn. no idea if that can be replicated by others but it absolutely can be tested out. good fun.
