@ckent@urbanists.social @mtothevizzah@mastodon.gamedev.place I’m too sympathetic with my inebriated self so there's studies showing physiological changes consistent with high stress trauma when people have surgery under some "you'll remember nothing" treatments - rohyphnol for sure, and others. (This is just one of the really really fucked up things about rape drugs - there is still physical brain trauma but without a memory to tie it to. And one of the less-fucked up but still fucked up things about some kinds of voluntary anaesthesia.) Anyway in short it turns out modern science suggests that being kind to your "inebriated self" on N2O is actually also avoiding harm to your brain and your sober self afterwards.
