@Andres@mastodon.hardcoredevs.com @pikesley@mastodon.me.uk I wonder how much of this is mathematical bait and switch. The question is: "Do you think if you were playing your very best tennis, you could win a point off Serena Williams?" Winning a point in a game of tennis means losing the game game-15 to Serena, that is, getting a single point before Serena gets 4. While I seriously doubt even 10% of US men could do this, it's a far lower bar than beating her at a game.

  • @Wikisteff@mastodon.social @pikesley@mastodon.me.uk People that are smart enough to figure that out would definitely not say that they would beat Serena.

  • @Wikisteff@mastodon.social @Andres@mastodon.hardcoredevs.com @pikesley@mastodon.me.uk I suppose technically, she could serve a double fault, but if playing some normie she's not going to need to try a serve that can beat someone who's playing at the same level as her, and obviously isn't going to be feeling any of the pressure she would facing other top players. So, even that isn't very likely to happen.
