As a person who has to drive in downtown Toronto more often than I want to, I appreciate when the police are directing traffic at intersections. It really helps keep human traffic moving (vehicles, pedestrians, bicycle etc). We've all been the person who thinks "I can just squeeze in behind everyone else" even though the intersection is already full. And we've all been the person who turns left on a red that was a yellow long before you started moving. We're all guilty of being bad traffic.
