was writing up a solar power HOWTO for someone and had cause to do some math on my setup so far. roughly a $27k return in savings over 2.5 years, along with a net export of 4.2MWh to the grid last year alone. really seems like it would be good if capital expenditures for electrification and distributed generation were financed like mortgages! (large competitive market, loans backstopped by the federal government, making for inexpensive capital)
