@cpi@mastodon.social holy cow, that "Metaphaser" poster might be the most 1970s thing I have ever seen.
Yeah, the Quasar robot hoax is one of those "the more things change, the more they stay the same" things... sketchy tech companies are STILL promising robot servants for the home any day now and promoting them with rigged demos.

@mattmcirvin@mathstodon.xyz did you click through to see the other page of the metaphaser flyer? I really really hope one of those units survives, but I highly doubt one did. And yeah I love the acid trip look of it. The quasar thing absolutely delights me, I really hope someone brings it back in the face of Musk stupidity. I'm happy the flyer is now archived, please pass it to anyone else who enjoys the quasar the story 🙂
