I used to be a Pixelfed user but left once I realized development was essentially stalled and the ActivityPub implementation was critically broken. With the developer concentrating on Loops, a TikTok clone which is filled with reposted TikTok brain rot, I discovered https://subversive.pics. I use Ocular by @rostiger@merveilles.town and now have my own static image gallery at https://img.ominous.net/. There’s a growing community of users in the Ocular webring and participants in Subversive.pics.
