@ThePiGuy24@meemu.org That extra conductor is only needed if you have four phase power. Since your plug only has three pins (one per phase), best practice is to split the orange pair and wrap each strand around one of the pins at the bottom. This helps eliminate “cross-talk”. Some people advocate cutting the extra wires, but if you want to upgrade to four phase at some point in the future, you’ll have to replace the entire run instead of just rewiring the plug.
