One of the main reasons for creating Trunkfriends - @trunkfriends is going away with a new feature merged into mastodons main branch. You will be notified when connections are severed as a result of defederation / blocks. Development of Trunkfriends will continue, as I feel it still has something to offer, the new feature only notifies when you loose followers, not the opposite direction. It may also be that it only notifies you when the server you are on defederates, not if the server those you follow defederates your server. This part, I am unsure about though. Trunkfriends will keep a backup of your followers should your instance die, and will allow you to compare lists accross servers. Trunkfriends will be developed at least out this year, at that point I will evaluate the project based on amount of users / need for the tool before I decide if it will be taken further. Source will remain open and available no matter, though.
