@wdenton@cosocial.ca @oantolin@mathstodon.xyz Canada applies the same presumption of intention to immigrate as the US, and especially firmly to 16-25 YOs, and most especially to young men from poor nations. And so they are called upon to prove a negative, supplying evidence of a very, very highly paid job in their current country of residence, a spouse and children, an apartment or house... or just evidence of a large fortune. The interviews are humiliation rituals to which you carry all of your most sensitive documents.
