Mastodon.cloud users in particular: I can't guess whether the severe lag of late is related to the server's administration or the way other servers are interacting with it, but it might be good to at least export your follows and have a backup plan for migration. Servers are starting to limit it (https://sfba.social/@announcements/116401088567092431), and at least one server defederated it (breaking follows) with just 72 hours' notice (to just its users, https://mastodon.cloud/@fosstodon@fosstodon.org/116426844675685148).
