The CPLDs used are sort of interesting. They're still being manufactured and they run at 5v, so ideal for integration into retro hardware. Unfortunately last time I looked the toolchain was a complete nightmare to use. I believe there is an open source workflow now though

Haha of course the OSS toolchain is by @whitequark@social.treehouse.systems . Honestly if I had a penny for each time I was struggling with something (PCH GPIO was the last thing) and Catherine had a code snippet or whatever that saved me... -- https://whitequark.github.io/prjbureau/intro.html
