@kambingramah@mastodon.social yeah, they’re also inspirations to a number of Indonesian coffee shops but not to the level of Melbourne ones. The Latrobe in Cipete, referenced in the article, is personally offensive to me because it looks nothing like anything in Latrobe Street and doesn’t reflect Melbourne whatsoever 🤣🤣🤣. I used to live near that street.

@aulia@mementomori.social indonesians are obsessed with anything from overseas. they don’t even care if copied products are cool or just so-so. coffee shops know this. they are smart enough to to market their products effectively :)
