@CarbonCarrot@mastodon.social full ack... i mean for smartphones (if the app is responsive) current gtk4 style is quite nice - but hell does it take many resources f/e on a Librem 5 or MNT Reform (both i.mx8 for me) it's just slow - yeah yeah i know, they aren't fast devices... nevertheless, mobile phones would be the perfect fit for gnome these days, imho.
i still prefer a nice oxygen plasma system even on my tablet computer. i tried gnome on tablets with fast cpus and enough ram also... but after i while i hacked so much out of it that updates broke something every now and then. maybe it's better now; it was around 45 i kicked gnome out of the ring.

@scops@social.tchncs.de @inlovewithpda@chaos.social @Eggfreckles@mastodon.mit.edu I really don't like how GNOME combines the customizability of Apple's mobile operating system with the resource efficiency of Microsoft and the simplicity of systemd. Worst of all worlds, a DE that needs more resources than a phone can offer is a shitty DE
