@devalot@hostux.social I don't own this laptop so I can't tell it's weight, but those batteries are not that heavy compared to their advantages, including low self discharge during storage (They are widely used for flashlights for this reason) I own a few of those so I checked their wieght. They come in multiple capacity, so 2600 mAh weights about 52,4 g et 3500 mAh weights about 55 g. Based on the photo, batteries included are 1800 mAh so they weight less 52 g Even 8×3500 mAh, 55 g each ≃ 440 grams @SDF@mastodon.sdf.org

@devalot@hostux.social While 440 g for just batteries might seem a lot to people used to thing fragile modern shit, my 13 years old, still working laptop (running debian), which is easy to open/for repair and dust cleaning, weights like 4 kg (has some metal parts on its chassis). Since this laptop on the picture isn't one of those paper-thin fragile modern shit… I'd guess 440 grams wouldn't make that much difference but 440 grams is 3500 mAh Batteries. 1800 mAh are lighter, I don't own one to weight it @SDF@mastodon.sdf.org
