@BillyJBryant@defcon.social @defcon@defcon.social Right, that's why I think the appropriate path forward is for this person to not actually get the benefits that would have been coming to them if that was their plan.
I don't want to think that was their plan, I think this sounds like they foolheartedly tried something and got in over their head quickly... But either way, owning up to it is a good first step.

@deviantollam@defcon.social @defcon@defcon.social I definitely agree. Owning up to the mistake is a great first step. Hopefully they follow through and choose the high road going forward. Its understandable for people to be curious, in fact, in most cases, its even encouraged; however, said curiousity should not happen at the expense of others and the interruption of an event for which they paid money to attend. At either rate, hopefully they are fully understanding of that and I look forward to seeing a write-up (if any) on the vulnerability that they exploited. Now I'm going to go back to nursing my #conflu 🤒
