It’s lemmy. people just want to hate on anything that isn’t steam and linux pc gaming. also bitter that nintendo games can’t be purchased for like 75-90% off MSRP like most steam games. the takes on here about the gaming industry are completely delusional if you start looking at numbers. but it’s not about reality, it’s about their weird little console war mentalities that pc gaming is superior and gaben is the only good billionaire, and every other gaming company is evil and stupid.

I would say it definitely was a success if we go by the numbers. That being said it’s pretty bad news for costumer protection that it didn’t fumble. Nintendo’s costumers will receive their wake up call in a few years when the console is outdated, servers shut down/moved to the next thing and games stop working without downloading crucial updates. Or when stick drifts start piling up alongside other problems. My Switch and the pro controller got really bad stick drift . That was enough reason for me to not get a Switch 2 but there are so many more reasons why I think the platform kind of sucks and won’t end well despite it’s undeniable success. People just don’t care about any of that I guess. At least not yet.
