Do we as trans people suffer from collective trauma? I think yes Everyday we see news reports from places where the legislators are seeking to erase our existence Of our siblings being murdered Of another sports governing body banning us from competing Of another whole country banning gender affirming medical care We hear about how our friends have been harassed, …treated poorly by medical staff…. ….been misgendered and deadnamed by their family…. …been kicked out of their home by the people who are supposed to care for them…. We read yet another ‘go fund me’ for someone trying to escape an unsafe home/state/country Yet another article from a politician who says that trans kids are just confused, that they’re too young, that they’re really just gay And the media is just as guilty, highlighting every story, digging up deadnames for extra sensation If this doesn’t traumatise you…… 🏳️‍⚧️💪🫂💕
