@tonyarnold@mastodon.social I spent a lot of time thinking about Cory Doctorow's "Enshittification" book. He believes (rightly) the thing about tech is that tech workers have actually had a lot of control - even if they haven't used it as much as they could have. LLMs represent a way to try to disenfranchise workers - and that's why they're being pushed so hard. Remove the decision making from the engineers entirely by strapping them to LLMs that will make decisions on behalf of management.
