Notice, my Pop didn't suggest us boys move somewhere cheaper even though the rent was so high in the White suburban apartments. My parents tried that, moved to the darkest part of a town when we were kids. Sure, it was cheaper, but gunshots, robberies, my sis almost being raped, and us kids getting jumped and almost killed on multiple occasions made the idea a non-starter in his mind forever.
