What's remarkable is that our idea of the customizable grid remains unmatched to this day: As best I can tell, there is no other weather app out there that displays such a wide range of data with such clarity and such flexibility. That is deeply satisfying. (5/7)

I only learned recently that Mike Piatek-Jimenez, Seasonality's developer, had decided to sunset the application a few months ago. While that's sad news, of course, I'm incredibly proud of what we build, and tremendously grateful for having had the chance to work with such amazing people on this project. (6/7)

@jochenwolters@mastodon.social The 2010-2014 time frame was so good for UX design, particularly on multi-touch screens. There were so many apps from that time, pushing the industry forward, that do not exist today. Covering the entire screen with information and allowing for customization are just not common anymore. I shudder listening to UX / UX researcher friends obsess about button placement and interactivity refinement, while being unaware of the user friendly functionality available just 10 years ago.
