@fossham@mastodon.radio you have the wrong end of the stick - I’m one of the core members of the Debian hamradio team and this is using the Debian stable and backport repositories almost exclusively.
I am using the Debian tooling that we use to produce our live image and customising that slightly.
I have my own repo for packages I would not distribute in Debian for whatever reason as an extension and that’s the only major modification.
I thought I’d been quite clear about the fact that I don’t want to deviate from my existing work to minimise extra work I need to do to maintain this. Almost everything here is drawn from my upstream work apart from the bits that don’t quite move fast enough.

@red@woof.tech I'm afraid this communication doesn't answer the question, "why fork?" Why not simply use Debian + custom repo (or even just Sid/Testing repos), to ensure we're benefiting directly from Debian's time-proven infrastructure and processes? Debian users already have flatpak and appimages for cutting edge, but it would be better to incorporate ham software quickly into Debian while complying with Debian review and security processes. So give it another try: "Why fork?" What's the benefit?
