I definitely have something like a praise kink too, but I'm also a switch and all kinds of kinky things turn me on. Exhibitionism - showing off lewd stuff and trying to get attention and reaction - is my main way of expressing my kinkiness at the moment. And I can see why you'd feel a bit out of place in the bdsm community, since a lot of it at least aesthetically leans very heavily into sadomasochism and rough stuff. I think your kinkiness is definitely valid, and you're not the only one who is not into "hard" stuff!
