So they suspect the old furry man's kidneys, or something compounding. It may be horrifying or just a bening thing on top of an existing condition. They're keeping him overnight to do blood tests, fluids and tomorrow an echo and then I'll know more I guess. NGL coming back home with the empty carrier was rougher than expected, even If I know he's in the best place he can be

So they called last night to tell me my old furry boy's blood test came back, and his counts of everything kidney adjacent are up, along white blood cells, so they suspect it could be an infection, but they won't know until they do the ultrasound - which is fully book through today as well, so they'll try to fit him in a cancellation, or charge me an emergency fee to do it between things or during breaks. They started him on antibiotics all the same just in case. So I'm just awaiting a phone call still. I did sleep a lot though, which is nice. Also apparently he is deeply stressed (as expected) but very calm and even nice to the vet techs, which is a surprise. He's usually fairly spicy and direct when it comes to telling you he doesn't like whatever it is you're doing.
