It's not just the hours - boomers had a different type of work, different quality. The big difference was the lack of digital technology and the internet, which meant a lot of their "work" was simple stuff such as travelling, talking to people in person, sending/receiving mail, for which they had female helpers named secretaries...

Right. You weren't sitting in front for screens for hours and you weren't stuck in dingy, run down buildings with little to no sunlight. Modern offices are an atrocity nowadays and no one wants to be in them, much like most warehouse/service jobs.
