We might never learn the truth, but maybe the one naming the drink wanted a cool name for a drink that makes you feel energised and Clockwork Orange had just the thing, but they had no knowledge that original name was a reference to a Russian word that made milk an essential ingredient. That is how milk disappeared from the drink, but not from the name. You know, like anime characters that are inspired by heroes or legendary beasts from Western folklore — they might have a similar name, maybe possess a couple of traits, but otherwise be vastly different from their prototype 😁 Such an eclectic approach seemed shallow to me when I was younger, but now I think it's fun!
