@pozorvlak@mathstodon.xyz @regehr@mastodon.social there were many competing java implementations at the time, and the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Harmony team weren't allowed to share code or ideas with the IBM Java team. I have completely forgotten why anyone cared or why IBM was funding any of this, everything was a bit busy being on fire while I was there.
