@latenightlinux@mastodon.social I had to skunk and reload one of my primary workstations due to years of cruft from in-place major version upgrades getting too painful to deal with. It was a VERY close thing whether it got Ubuntu 26.04 or Debian whateverthefuck. It got 26.04. But the shine is so damn far off. I don't even want to ACKNOWLEDGE its cute little animal name. It just doesn't feel like it deserves that much of a personality or feeling that it's definitely on my side anymore.

@jimsalter@fosstodon.org @latenightlinux@mastodon.social i gave up on ubuntu when snaps came to being. got this new acer aspire 14 ai snapdragon because my old toshiba l750 gave up it's hard drive spinning rust at last it was good but 1 it had 8gb of ram 2, this has 16gb nvme gen4 ssd 512gb and is far faster it's arm and silent the battery lasts ages blind so use accessible screen reader software one big downside linux support is patchy when it becomes usible then will i be able to rejoine you got this because it was a deal £399 the main price before the deal was £699 linux please hurry up windows 11 is eerr not the best.

@jimsalter@fosstodon.org Yeah. Being forced to go from a SATA SSD to NVMe has me doing a new install, too, and if KDE Linux was more finished, I'd probably have gone with it. I'll see where things are when it's time for Kubuntu 28.04.
