@pawsplay@dice.camp @danirabbit@mastodon.online The only two reasons why companies want people to use apps are to collect user habit information for ads or resale, and for direct user interaction (e.g. notifications); those two things are worth more $ than the cost of maintaining two different software approaches--platform-independent web browser site vs. platform-dependent app. You're just giving up more privacy with the app. I never got on the phone app train, still use the phone browser as much as possible.
