@typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt this is why I can’t just leave macOS. I switched to English layout when I learnt to touch type, and because I was on a Mac I could still type in Spanish easily. Same now that I write some Norwegian. One layout, three languages, no problem.
Your point still stands though, but I won’t shut up about macOS being great in this regard

@RosaCtrl@social.vivaldi.net do you use the option key to get other characters? i find on a mac i basically never need to switch off dvorak unless i'm typing in japanese. on windows i always have to switch layouts to write in portuguese.
