Note: I am using the pronoun "they" for B-- as B-- said any pronoun would be ok and they don't have any preferred one, except that they would prefer "she/her" to be used less. The story of last night is really a long one, but the tl;dr is that I might have inadvertently helped an egg to crack โ€“ a lovely trans masc person, "B--", โ€“ after hoping/planning to flirt with what I initially mistakenly assumed to be a beautiful and sexy butch lesbian woman (though they are a beautiful and sexy butch lesbian, they are not a woman). And I might also have helped them to finally talk to their very cis "het" female friend and tell her how much they love her, and how much they have loved her all those years. ........... So basically B-- is from Belgium and living in Barcelona. Their friend, A--, is also from Belgium and is currently visiting B--. They have been BFFs since ... well, let's say "time immemorial". Both are around their early 30ies. Since the bar was really full but there were two stools available at our table, B-- asked if they can sit at our table. "Of course", I said, without even the slightest idea that these two words would maybe change the course of the life of two wonderful people. B-- presents fully androgynous, wears a beautiful black tanktop and black trousers. B-- is tall, slim, and has 1mm-long black hair, with beautiful tattoos on their scalp. A-- OTOH presents very feminine, has long blonde hair, big, beautiful boobs, and also came in all-black, but started taking of her clothes in the bar. After a while she was there in this bar in her red bra and red underwear. B-- grabs their backpack, opens it and pulls out a beautiful red dress, mini-length, with spaghetti straps and very low cleavage. A-- puts that dress on and B-- looks at her and is absolutely in love. You can see B-- loves A-- to death, and I agree, A-- really looks amazing in that hot-red dress. This is the moment I decide, for myself, that I'd definitely take them home, both of them, if I could. Anyhow, you look at the two and see an amazing couple, so perfect for each other, it is ... otherworldly. After @dee@social.treehouse.systems left I was left alone with B-- and A--, and this where things started getting really ... well, judge for yourself: A-- sits down between B-- and me and starts complimenting my outfit and how amazing I look and that she hopes she can look as magnificent as I do when she reaches my age, at which point she starts apologizing about calling me "old", and one thing adds to the other and we're three lovely people chatting and enjoying each other's company, with tons of banter and even more laughter. B-- and A-- are, in my view, a perfect and wonderful couple, so I "gang up" with B-- and start chatting with them how amazing A-- looks but which parts of her outfit don't fit, and where she still needs some outfit-uogrades, etc. A-- loves it, enjoys it and shows off her bra and so on. A-- then notices my beautiful purple patterned tights, my purple sneakers and tells me how much she loves how I arranged all my outfit. (Apologies for so much detail, but it is important because this is where things start becoming weird ... but before we get there, let me rewind to a moment where we introduce each other) B-- is off getting drinks, I ask A-- what's her name and introduce myself as Celeste. She says her name is A--, and that she loves my name. B-- brings the drinks right at the moment when A-- decides to go to the bathroom. "So...", I ask, "... what is your name? Mine is Celeste." "My name is B--", they say, a very strongly masculine name, which is the first time I'm tripped. "Oh, a beautiful name. What's the story behind it, your parents? And what are your pronouns?" They say that the story behind the name is a long one, but that they use any pronoun. "Oh, awesome.", I say, referring to the pronouns, "... and I have three weeks time, so tell me the story of your name." The story is really cute, really heartwarming, but the gist is that they chose the name themselves a few years ago. This is the second tripwire I hit. I'm sitting there, slightly confused, but not completely, so we chat. Then A-- arrives from the bathroom sits down between B- and me, at which point we return back to the story's main storyline. So, A-- tells me how much she loves my outfit, my tights and my purple sneakers. I point to her legs and say "you also have lovely legs, tights like this would look beautiful on them", at which point she pulls out her legs from under the table and shows her sandals. "But not with these sandals, they wouldn't fit", I say. Her words: "oh yeah, I have to wear them, they are from my mother in law." Third slight confusion for me, as she doesn't indicate in any way that she means B--'s mom with "mother in law." I look up to B-- and realize that there is something off there, something not really right: B-- looks sad, or rather somewhat frustrated... 'What is going on here'?, I ask myself, 'which parallel universe am I entering?' "I see...", I say, and leave it at that, except from now on I am observing B-- more closely, because I suspect here is a situation which is not what it looks like. We start chatting, I flirt a little with A--, and then she says something absolutely shocking: "Yeah, but I have a boyfriend to get back to." - but in a way that ... look, I have no idea how to explain it but the way she says it tells me a few things: She is supposedly het (she says so)She has a boyfriendB-- is her BFF, nothing moreShe is not 100% sure all this is rightB-- gets sadder and sadder WTF is going on here? What is happening? Where am I? B-- and I start joking , making (nice) jokes about A-- and how hot she looks, and how even hotter she would look if she had the right tights and high-heel shoes (maybe hot-red), etc, which A-- loves and enjoys but (I learn later) which makes A- think that B-- and I are getting off and maybe she should leave us alone... ๐Ÿ™„ (A-- is so fucking oblivious to everything, it is unfathomable) A-- then asks B-- for a cigarette and leaves to have a smoke (unbeknownst to us that she thinks that she should leaves us alone). And this is the moment I lean over to B-- and ask: "What the fuck is going on here, B--? Am I in a parallel universe?" B-- looks at me, faking innocence: "What do you mean?" Me: "What do I mean? WHAT DO I MEAN? You fucking love her, you have th biggest crush I have seen, and she loves you too, but you are just BFFs?" B--: "Is it really so obvious that I love her?" "Obvious? You can hear it from Antarctica! And she loves you too.... how long has this been going on? Since when do you love her? Did you ever tell her?" B-- :"Since forever, but what can I tell her? She is hetero, and she has a boyfriend, ..." "She is hetero? My ass... she is at least queer." .... (... to be continued...)
