The reason people don't use files is not because they are stupid or that designers think they are stupid. It is because files are a bad universal abstraction for the way we use the computer in 2026. File extensions are stupid. Hierarchical file systems are bad for organization. The boundaries between files are often unclear. A new file for each piece of data can be orders of magnitude less efficient computationally. We need to make something better, not push people to use something bad. Thanks.
