All current issues of Seeds of Spring will be on sale this Saturday at @constellation I am really exited to finally be at this bookfair. Come by to chat if you are in Montreal this weekend. Seeds of SPring is a serial YA comic, written by Chris Coquard, that I have been illustrating for a few years now. It's an adaptation of Peter Kropotkin's autobiography, the famous russian prince who rejected his noble titles to become a respected scientist, and humanitarian, who charted part of Siberia, escaped Russia's most feared prison, and is remembered as one the worlds most notable anarchist thinkers. The story is told from the perspective of a current day teenager named Naguset who learns to reconnect with her Mi'kmaq culture with the help of her grandparents. Both stories parallell each other in themes and juxtaposes current day issues with historical drama.
