Fun fact: Hot water systems in Australia are required to keep stored water at 60-70C to prevent bacterial growth, but must not deliver it to any tap above 50C - AS/NZS 3500 requires a tempering valve to drop the temperature to 50 (or 45 in schools, old folks' homes etc): https://bestplumbers.com.au/plumbing-guides/hot-water-tempering-valve/ Less fun fact: My HWS, original from and installed in the mid 90s, when turned up to maximum in mid autumn, delivers hot water to my kitchen sink tap at 53.6C. Oops.
