#WritersCoffeeClub 19 May: How would changing genre change your current WIP's plot? I don’t think it would meaningfully change the plot itself, but I do take genre into account as I’m not writing _only_ for myself. What would happen is mostly that I would (de)emphasise certain parts over others. Minor parts might even fall off, depending on whether it’s appropriate for the genre. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t suddenly change the genre to romance, so don’t expect too big changes. Fwiw, I was chatting with my editor the other week about whether she considered my new WIP more of an action thriller or more of a psychological horror. She agreed on the latter and I take such feedback into how I develop the plot.
