It makes me sad that AI makes us used to the fact that building software now costs money. Or even worse, gets us dependent on it while our employer pays the bill. I see this happening to myself, right now, yeah .... Yes people who can't or don't want spend money (like young me) can still build software the old way but it's not the same if the whole industry and ecosystem moves on.
