It relies on the idea that we are somehow separate from the natural world, too. We've got the capacity to self reflect and change our behavior. There's a world in which it's normal to see ourselves as part of our environment and planet, living in conversation with and as part of its systems. Just as humans are capable of kindness to each other, we are just as capable of acting as responsible stewards, if we hold ourselves accountable to be that.
