Idly looking at my finances from the US after encountering more and more folks here whose perspective is "if you're from the US, you should have the money to emigrate freely." I was making 33% above min. wage, working 40 hours/wk. My rent equalled 3/4 of my monthly income 😅 I literally would not have survived without a second income - add to that food, insurance, phone/internet/utilities, medical debt payments and credit cards and oof. US still didn't consider me under the poverty line, though
