@joelle@social.joelle.us I remember reading about one of those standard prisoners-dilemma-esque selfishness/generosity studies psychologists love to do, where the variable was administration of testosterone. When not told what was being administered, men given T were slightly more generous / less aggressive, women showed no strong effect. But when told they were receiving T, regardless of whether they got T or placebo, women were significantly more selfish.
