@synlogic4242@social.vivaldi.net @grumpygamer@mastodon.gamedev.place A humorous take on the Dwarf Fortress-genre, maybe?
Or, hear me out, a Monkey-Island take on Wizardry: A town on top with shops and inns, and below the town, a massive multi level, procedurally generated dungeon where adventurers go for action and loot.
But -plot twist- it's all a theme park!
The stores are there to syphon money out of the adventurers' pockets, the monsters and bosses in the dungeon are hired performers (or people from the town working there), and the loot is souvenirs, cheap replicas Made in Katay, and the fabulous "I vanquished the Dungeon Master and all I got for it is this t-shirt." t-shirt.
