@wombatpandaa@mastodon.social its a regular tcl TV I connected my laptop via HDMI. Can't stand seeing android tv full of ads 🤣. I have heard that the brand Spectre makes tvs without any preloaded OS.

@adriannyc@mastodon.social ahh okay! I wondered if that was the case. I'm hoping that I'll be able to set up a Steam Machine as a similar sort of set top box thing, for the same reason. I usually use an Amazon Echo Cube and it's riddled with buggy apps and annoying ads.
