@nekohayo@mastodon.social appstreamcli supports taking a NEWS file and converting it to AppStream release format, maybe it could have an option to set date_eol to n days after all releases. Having this info in AppStream would surely be of benefit to app stores, which could warn of installing versions that are EOL (such as those in distros). And it doesn't seem libadwaita or ministream do anything with it, yet.
